PODERE IL COCCO
GIACOMO BINDI
MONTALCINO'S PROVOCATEUR
Down a winding road in the picturesque hills surrounding the town of Montalcino you will (if you have a keen eye) stumble upon perhaps the most accomplished and reserved young producers in all of Tuscany. For years, Giacomo Bindi has been hard at work producing world class wines typical of the region with incredible success. His youth, skill, and dedication to the art of winemaking make him the most promising talent in the area.

While he has successfully cultivated a reputation for producing excellent wines year after year, Giacomo has also earned the status of provocateur through the artistic direction he takes with his product lineup. Under Giacomo's guidance, Podere il Cocco has become somewhat controversial in the wine community. Names for wines such as the 'Sfancul' and the overtly sexual labelling on products like his Rosso di Montalcino make for interesting conversation starters to say the very least.

However, his true claim to fame is undoubtedly the house's flagship Brunello di Montalcino. This product is not only among the greatest quality Brunellos available on the market, but, like all of his offerings, is also incredibly rare, perhaps the rarest wine of its kind in the world. An annual production of only 125 cases makes simply getting your hands on one a sensual experience in and of itself. Age worthy and incredibly complex, Giacomo's wines are also kept entirely organic throughout the growing process, making the final product not only successfully realized, but also a natural and true expression of the terroir.
